This role is part of Alcon's Legal & Compliance function, a team that safeguards our company and our innovations to ensure our business is protected and our customers can access our eyecare innovations to see brilliantly.
The Sr. Associate II, Integrity & Compliance (Professional Path), is primarily responsible for supporting the compliance team by conducting risk assessments and ensuring adherence to policies. You will act as a subject matter expert in regulatory areas, perform specialized tasks, and conduct independent research to optimize outcomes. Specifics include:
• Perform complex compliance inspections and assessments
• Research and interpret new laws and regulations
• Provide guidance to team members on compliance matters
• Assist in drafting and revising policies and procedures
• Prepare reports and maintain compliance records
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution and monitoring of HR controls, including evidence collection, submission tracking, quality checks, and follow-up with control owners across HR CoEs
- Review control evidence for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with documented control requirements; identify gaps, late submissions, missing evidence, or inconsistent documentation and escalate as appropriate.
- Support internal and external audit readiness by coordinating audit requests, collecting documentation, maintaining audit trackers, preparing evidence packages, and supporting follow-up actions with stakeholders.
- Maintain and update HR compliance trackers, including wage type tracking, control submission tracking, audit tracking, issue management, severance audit tracking, HRIS documentation inventory, and other compliance workstream trackers.
- Assist with process documentation, SOPs, work instructions, control descriptions, user guides, onboarding materials, and compliance playbooks to improve consistency, knowledge transfer, and audit defensibility.
- Support HR repository and document governance activities, including organizing compliance documentation, maintaining SharePoint and Teams collaboration spaces, supporting access requests, and ensuring materials are stored in the appropriate controlled location.
- Assist with HR compliance issue identification and documentation, including classifying issues, capturing root cause information, tracking remediation actions, and supporting follow-up until closure.
- Support data privacy and HR data request processes by helping document workflows, triage standard requests, coordinate with MDM and Privacy stakeholders, and maintain appropriate audit trails.
- Support Global Employee Relations operational processes such as outplacement case administration, and severance audit support
- Partner with global and regional HR stakeholders to obtain timely responses, clarify evidence requirements, communicate deadlines, and support completion of assigned compliance activities.
- Use Microsoft 365 tools, SharePoint, Power Automate, Copilot, Workday, ServiceNow, Box, and other systems to streamline tracking, reporting, documentation, and workflow management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify manual processes, improve data quality, standardize documentation, automate reminders, and strengthen compliance reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Compliance, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Audit, Legal Operations, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in HR operations, HR compliance, audit support, internal controls, payroll compliance, benefits compliance, data governance, or related operational compliance work.
- Experience working with confidential associate data and maintaining high standards of privacy, discretion, and documentation discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review large data sets, documentation packages, control evidence, and process materials for accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders, track actions to closure, communicate deadlines, and escalate risks or blockers when needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare clear documentation, summaries, trackers, and stakeholder follow-up communications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
