Behavioral Health Specialist Float

Position Overview:

 The Behavioral Health Specialist – Float is a dynamic role that supports PHP, Inpatient, and Residential milieus. The specialist is responsible for facilitating therapeutic skills groups, self-monitoring, and activity groups, providing therapeutic meal support, and assisting clients in managing their eating disorders. This role ensures a recovery-oriented environment and offers general support across various sites or virtually within a specified geographic region. The float specialist steps in to provide backup coverage due to planned or unplanned PTO, recruitment gaps, and other staffing needs. 

 Compensation Range:

$26.40 - $29.70

Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position

Schedule:

• Full time 40 hours/week
• Float hours oriented around programming 7:00am - 8:00 pm daily
• Occasional weekend coverage, as needed

Flexibility & Floating Requirement: 
This position requires flexibility to float to various locations and departments based on operational needs. Employees in this role will support multiple sites or departments within the organization to ensure high-quality client care and efficient operations. 

Floating Responsibilities Include: 

• Traveling to different sites or departments as assigned to meet staffing needs. 

• Adapting quickly to diverse teams, workflows, and client populations. 

• Maintaining consistent communication with site leadership to ensure smooth transitions and practical support across all areas. 

This floating requirement is a crucial aspect of the role, providing valuable experience and skill development across the organization. 

 

How Behavioral Health Specialists Empower Recovery

• Facilitates therapy groups including skills groups (including CBT and DBT), self-monitoring groups, and experiential activity groups which may include art activities, music, journaling, mindfulness, relaxation, and movement.
• Participates in therapeutic supported meals and snacks.
• Provides milieu support. 
• Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a recovery-oriented therapeutic environment. 
• Participates in client therapeutic outings. 
• May meet with residents to provide support and provide in-the-moment skills coaching. 
• Supports individualized treatment plans as developed by therapist and treatment team. 
• Participates in treatment team, mini team, therapy team, and/or case consultation meetings.
• Participates in scheduled supervision meetings and seeks supervision when needed. 
• Ability to engage, coach, monitor, and support residents as needed. 
• Completes clinical documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. 
• Always maintains the confidentiality of proprietary information, which includes but is not limited to, trade secrets, sensitive company information, and any company information not made available to the public.
• Always maintains the confidentiality of former and current clients’ protected health information, as directed by state and federal law, and Emily Program and Veritas Collaborative policy. Additionally, maintain confidentiality in any position with access to employee personal information.
• Completes all assigned mandatory trainings.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a mental, behavioral, counseling, or behavioral sciences health-related field is strongly preferred.
• In addition, A minimum of 1 years of direct patient care experience in a mental/behavioral health setting is required, regardless of degree.

Other Qualifications

• Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites must have a valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive.
• Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites are required to have a current Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites are required to have a current First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Employees at Residential site in Washington are required to have a Washington State Department of Health Food Handler permit within 30 days of hire.
