What you'll do...
Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician collaborates with management and team members to deliver quality service, supports operational needs across multiple locations, and participates in on-call rotations. Strong technical skills, adherence to standards, and effective communication with customers and colleagues are essential to ensure system reliability and operational efficiency.
About the team:
The team delivers HVAC and refrigeration support across 19 locations, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and meets safety and environmental standards. They collaborate with management and business partners to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely service. Responsible for managing resources such as parts inventory and refrigerant levels, the team follows industry regulations and company policies. Focused on continuous improvement, they support business objectives by delivering reliable solutions and maintaining strong partnerships to meet operational and customer needs effectively.
What you'll do:
- Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational standards.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk-ins, and HVAC systems to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
- Adhere to OSHA and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols during all service activities.
- Lead and mentor field teams, providing technical guidance and promoting safety practices.
- Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory.
- Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration and compliance.
- Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
- Competence in operating heavy machinery and company vehicles safely.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical issues and collaborate with customers and team members.
- Capability to lead and mentor field teams while managing escalated service issues effectively.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
