Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our perioperative surgical team. In this role, you will maintain sterile fields, prepare operating rooms, arrange surgical instruments, and assist surgeons during complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intraoperative Assistance: Scrub and assist during general surgery, orthopedic fracture care, vascular, and urology procedures.
- Sterile Field Management: Prepare and organize surgical instrument trays, maintain aseptic technique, and ensure all sterile fields remain uncontaminated throughout surgical cases.
- Pre- & Post-Operative Prep: Set up operating room equipment, perform instrument/sponge counts with circulating nurses, and assist with post-operative room breakdown and instrument sterilization.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative nursing staff to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Surgical Proficiency: Demonstrated clinical expertise in General Surgery, Orthopedic Fracture Care, Vascular, and Urology specialties [Required].
- Certifications:
- Active NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential [Required].
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required].
- Experience: Prior travel assignment experience in acute care hospital operating rooms [Highly Preferred].
- Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, strict adherence to sterile protocols, and effective communication under fast-paced operating room conditions.
