About the Role

S&P Global is seeking a Director of Public Relations to lead external communications for the Chief Technology & Transformation Office (CTTO). This role translates CTTO’s enterprise technology agenda into clear, credible narratives for media, customers, policymakers, partners, and market stakeholders across all technology verticals.

You’ll advise CTTO executives, lead proactive media and executive visibility, and develop communications for major technology milestones, conferences, and awards. You will also support issues management with guidance, messaging materials, and executive preparation in close partnership with the extended Communications and Legal/Policy partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead external technology communications strategy and execution for CTTO, aligned with Global Technology & Transformation Communications priorities and broader corporate reputation goals.

  • Own media relations and spokesperson support for technology and transformation topics, building relationships with technology, business/financial, and policy reporters.

  • Drive AI, data, and transformation storytelling and enablement by partnering with technology, data, engineering, and transformation leaders to surface proof points, translate complex topics into business value, and identify opportunities to use AI and emerging technologies to enhance communications strategy, execution, workflows, and insights.

  • Build executive thought leadership and stakeholder engagement for CTTO leaders by mapping the network of influential voices they need to engage, developing executive visibility plans, and preparing bylines, Q&As, talking points, interview prep, conference remarks, and social content as needed.

  • Provide media training and executive readiness to ensure CTTO leaders are prepared for priority interviews, external appearances, high-stakes conversations, and ongoing engagement with influential industry, media, policy, and customer voices.

  • Manage conferences, speaking, and awards for priority CTTO moments, including speaker/panel materials and nomination strategy.

  • Support issues management by providing messaging guidance, rapid-response materials, Q&As, and executive readiness for high-scrutiny technology, AI, data, cybersecurity, or policy topics.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Government Affairs/Policy, Risk/Compliance, Product Marketing, Investor Relations, and business communications to ensure accuracy, consistency, and readiness.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in corporate communications, PR, public affairs, technology communications, policy communications, journalism, or related work.

  • Experience leading communications for complex, high-profile technology and policy topics.

  • Strong writing/editing skills and ability to distill technical content for senior audiences.

  • Proven experience advising executives and preparing leaders for interviews and external appearances.

  • Track record building relationships with technology, business/financial, and policy media.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with Legal/Policy/Compliance/Risk stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to navigate effectively and efficiently within a large, matrixed global organization while maintaining strong cross-functional alignment and execution discipline.

  • Exceptional organization and operational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel, balance immediate demands with long-term priorities, and operate effectively amid changing requirements, limited resources, and ambiguity.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading external communications for a global public company, data/AI provider, fintech, cloud/software, or similarly regulated organization.

  • Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI, data regulation, cybersecurity, privacy, and technology risk.

  • Experience developing or implementing AI, automation, or emerging technology solutions that improve communications productivity, streamline workflows, or generate actionable insights for decision-making.

  • Experience managing conference strategy, speaking, and awards/nominations.

  • Existing relationships with top-tier technology and policy reporters.

Success in the First 12 Months

  • A clear, repeatable communications operating rhythm for CTTO across media, executive visibility, stakeholder mapping, media training, milestone planning, and disciplined execution of multiple priority workstreams.

  • Stronger external visibility and credibility for CTTO leadership across AI, data, transformation, cybersecurity, and policy themes, supported by a clear plan for where executives need to show up and which influential voices they need to engage.

  • Consistent, high-quality execution of communications for major CTTO moments, including conferences and awards.

  • Effective support for issues management—timely, accurate, and well-prepared messaging and executive readiness.

  • Practical use of AI and automation to strengthen communications workflows, improve productivity, and support more data-informed planning and decision-making.

  • Improved coordination and trust across CTTO and Communications partner teams.
