Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with business stakeholders to understand business processes, scheme rules, and operational workflows for employee benefits administration.
- Analyze and interpret scheme documentation and business rules, translating them into clear system behavior and data requirements.
- Lead and facilitate requirements-gathering activities (workshops, interviews, documentation review) to capture functional and non-functional requirements.
- Produce high-quality documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional requirements documents (FRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Design logical and physical data models (ERDs) to support new and existing features, ensuring data integrity, normalization, and consistency across systems.
- Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure solutions align with business needs, technical architecture, and SDLC standards.
- Write and execute SQL queries to analyze data, validate requirements, support impact analysis, and assist with defect investigation.
- Perform root-cause analysis of incidents and defects using logs, monitoring tools, and database analysis; define and document fixes and preventative improvements.
- Map and document current and target-state business processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data quality.
- Support Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban) by contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and demonstration of completed changes to stakeholders.
- Maintain configuration and requirements documentation in tools such as Jira and Confluence, ensuring traceability from requirements through to implementation and testing.
- Work closely with application support, testing, and development teams to ensure smooth deployment and transition of changes into BAU operations.
Must have:
- Strong business analysis capability including business process understanding and the ability to read scheme documentation and translate it into system behaviour.
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, data modelling (ERD), normalisation, and SQL (preferably PostgreSQL).
- Demonstrable experience in requirements gathering and documentation (BRDs/FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria).
- Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and incident analysis skills using SQL, logs, and monitoring tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience of stakeholder management and incident/update communication.
- Practical experience with Jira and Confluence or equivalent tools.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to web applications and cloud-hosted solutions.
- Experience with monitoring/logging tools and application performance analysis.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools for task and workflow tracking.
- Prior experience in insurance, pensions, or employee benefits domains.

- BE/B.Tech in IT / Computer Science
Experience
- Overall Min. 7 years’ experience in Software Services Industry.
- Min. 5 years’ experience in a System Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar business/technical analyst role.
- Proven experience of working through the full SDLC on application or platform change initiatives.
- Practical experience of requirements gathering, writing BRDs/FRDs and user stories, and working with product owners and developers.
- Hands-on experience designing and working with relational data models and writing complex SQL queries.
- Demonstrable experience in incident and problem analysis, including root-cause identification using logs and monitoring tools.
- Experience within insurance, pensions, employee benefits, or wider financial services.
- Experience working with /web applications and cloud-based platforms.
- Experience working in multi-team, multi-vendor environments.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of business analysis techniques, process mapping, and requirements engineering.
- Solid knowledge of relational database concepts, ER modelling,
normalization, and data integrity controls. - Understanding of application architecture concepts (e.g. APIs, services, integrations, web applications, monitoring).
- Good understanding of SDLC, Agile methods, and change control.
- Awareness of data integration patterns, messaging, and batch processing.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools used to support production systems.
