About the Role.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Practitioner to join our team at The Greens in Sheffield.

This is an opportunity to take on a key role within the service, supporting the day-to-day management and performance of the team while helping us deliver high-quality, person-centred support.

You'll provide leadership, guidance and support to colleagues, helping to create a positive working environment where people can develop and deliver the best possible support to those accessing our services.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll maintain a caseload and work directly with people accessing the service, completing assessments, risk assessments and support plans and delivering evidence-based interventions.

You'll work closely with the Service Manager and wider management team to monitor performance, maintain quality standards and continually develop and improve the service.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the day-to-day management and delivery of high-quality services at The Greens.
  • Lead, mentor, coach and develop colleagues, including providing regular supervision and supporting performance and development.
  • Support recruitment, induction, training, absence management and appraisals where required.
  • Manage a caseload and provide high-quality, person-centred support to people accessing the service.
  • Complete and regularly review comprehensive assessments, risk assessments and support plans.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group evidence-based interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with families, professionals, partner organisations and other agencies where appropriate.
  • Support the Service Manager to monitor performance, quality and contractual requirements, including relevant KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and provide written and verbal reports as required.
  • Use service information and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote effective safeguarding, risk management, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Ensure people accessing the service are actively involved in their support and in the development of the service.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and positive working environment.
  • Deputise for the Service Manager when required.

To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent/higher qualification.
  • Experience of leading and developing people, including providing effective and regular supervision.
  • Experience of working with people affected by drug and alcohol use.
  • Experience of delivering one-to-one and group evidence-based interventions.
  • Experience of completing comprehensive assessments and risk assessments.
  • The ability to manage a caseload while also supporting the wider performance of the team.
  • An understanding of evidence-based interventions and approaches, such as motivational interviewing and psychosocial interventions.
  • Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to extract, understand and report on management information.
  • Experience of maintaining confidentiality and working within appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of relevant best-practice frameworks and the ability to work within organisational policies and procedures.
  • Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office programmes.
