Food Operations Manager 1

Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a full-time Nutrition Lab Manager for The Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, TN, the region’s only comprehensive pediatric center and highest‑level pediatric provider. This role supports a nationally recognized academic medical center with a Level IV NICU and a broad range of pediatric subspecialty services.

 

The ideal candidate has experience in a nutrition lab, milk room, formula room, or NICU environment,and has with demonstrated experience as a strong team leader who has successfully guided, coached, and supported hourly staff.

What You'll Do

• Oversee operations of the milk lab, ensuring safe, accurate preparation and handling of formula and human milk
• Lead, coach, and support milk lab staff to ensure consistent performance and teamwork
• Manage staff scheduling, training, onboarding, and competency validation
• Monitor quality, safety, and workflow processes; drive continuous improvement
• Maintain accurate documentation, inventory, and tracking related to milk lab operations
• Specific duties and level of responsibility will vary based on the qualifications, experience, and background of the selected candidate

• Exerience working in a nutrition lab or milk room
• Professional team leader with demonstrated success guiding, coaching, and supporting hourly staff
• Knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and preparation
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Previous experience in a hospital or pediatric setting preferred

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Management Experience - 2 years Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
