Description
You will be part of the COMET Intelligent Automation team (IA), within the CoE Operational Effectiveness & Transformation (COMET) of the COO Finance (COOF) organization. The COMET IA team is positioned as the Finance Agentic Automation & AI Hub, in addition to servicing Finance with other low/no-code automation solutions.
COOF is an independent unit reporting to ING’s COO, with a permanent seat in the Management Team of CFO. It is accountable for executing the CFO and COO strategy to evolve towards one global digital bank. The COOF mission is to enable excellence in Finance with real-time business insights, derived from state-of-the-art technologies, optimal use of data and highly effective operations.
The integrated COMET team supports COOF in driving and realizing its strategic ambitions and operating model effectiveness, enabling services that are simple, scalable, digital (and AI enabled), controlled & compliant, and consistent in performance. The team is divided into several portfolios, with 40+ colleagues based in the Netherlands, Philippines and India.
The CoE collaborates with internal and external communities to inject new skills and thought leadership, supporting Finance and COOF’s transformation and digitalization ambition.
🔹 Purpose of the Role
As an Agentic Automation & AI Consultant in the Intelligent Automation team, you are the bridge between business needs and agentic automation / GenAI delivery. You identify agentic automation and AI enablement opportunities within the ING Finance domain based upon the Finance strategic priorities, evaluate the fit for purpose solutioning, translate processes into scalable solutions. You maintain the backlog of Finance domain use cases for agentic automation and AI enablement, and define proper criteria to prioritize work, and manage the backlog of AI makers. You work closely with stakeholders across Finance business teams, IT and the Intelligent Automation team to deliver compliant, efficient, and future-proof agentic automation and AI enablement solutions.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Own the orchestration of AI implementation and enablement in Finance domain, covering the implementation of the global framework on operating model, governance integration, change management, enablement, and value measurement.
- Intake & Evaluation: Lead unified intake and prioritizing of agentic automation and AI enablement requests and backlog from the Finance organization. Drive assessments and define criteria on possible strategic vs. low/no-code solutioning in line with ING governance. Determine business and value cases for agentic automation & AI enablement.
- Process Analysis: Identify agentic automation & AI enablement potential based in the Finance Strategic priorities to ensure delivery on the finance strategic targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with end users, COOF MT, architects, and local CFOs to align on solutioning.
- Delivery Oversight: Coordinate within the Intelligent Automation delivery team of AI Makers and cross-Finance AI Maker squad to ensure delivery within the agreed timelines
- Governance & Ownership: Evaluate agentic automation & AI enablement ownership and governance and drive assessments of opportunities to replace low/no-code solutioning with strategic solutioning.
- Fit-for-purpose solution design: Translate business processes into agentic automation & AI enablement flows of technologies already used in the Intelligent Automation team or identify fit-for-purpose solutioning on other technologies.
- Actively support finding candidates for AI across the COO Finance & Finance organization and the AI adoption and upskilling initiatives.
🔹 Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in Agentic Automation & AI enablement consultancy, business analysis and automation preferably in Finance domains.
- Strong understanding of AI platforms & tools (Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Power Platform, GitHub Copilot).
- Familiarity with Finance processes and data‑driven environments (banking experience preferred).
- Familiarity with COOF governance models and strategic alignment processes.
- Understanding of agentic automation governance, quality controls, and reusability principles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills on all levels (end users – sr. management).
- Agile mindset and experience working in cross-functional squads.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability.
