Description
Public Information & Citizen Engagement: Serve as the lead responder for citizen inquiries and complex information requests under the Ohio Sunshine Laws
Draft official communications, maintain the City's social media and website presence, and produce the quarterly employee newsletter
Legal & Legislative Assistance: Provide expert-level support to the Law Director and Clerk of Council, including acting as the designated backup for the Clerk of Council by attending City Council meetings to record official minutes
Discretion & Crisis Management: Exercise independent judgment to resolve citizen concerns and manage highly confidential information regarding City finances, personnel, and public health/safety
Ceremonial Coordination: Architect and execute the City's ceremonial programs, including swearing-in ceremonies, retirements, and official commemorations
Special Projects: Conduct independent research to inform city policy and manage cross-departmental projects from inception to completion
- High School Diploma is required. An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience as an Administrative Assistant is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal English-speaking skills, including editing formal reports and press releases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and G Suite.
- Familiarity with website enhancement (basic HTML/image editing) and social media platforms.
- Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record.
- Must be able to multitask efficiently, handle sensitive materials with strict confidentiality, take dictation/minutes, and maintain ethical conduct.
