The Team
Global Payments Solutions (GPS) is a leading provider of treasury, cash management, liquidity, trade and payment solutions to corporate and institutional clients worldwide. Within GPS, the Financial Institutions (FI) team partners with banks and financial institutions globally, delivering strategic treasury and correspondent banking solutions across an international network.
The Turkey FI team plays an important role in supporting some of the country's most significant banks, leveraging Bank of America's international platform, product capabilities and market expertise to help clients optimise their treasury, liquidity, correspondent banking and transaction banking activities. Working in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment, the team partners closely with Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Product Management colleagues to deliver integrated client solutions and drive franchise growth within a disciplined risk and governance framework.
We are seeking an experienced Director to lead Global Payments Solutions coverage for a portfolio of financial institution clients in Turkey.
This is a highly visible, senior client-facing role responsible for driving treasury revenue growth and expanding product penetration across a portfolio of Turkish financial institutions. The portfolio comprises two groups: (i) Turkish public and private sector banks headquartered in Turkey, together with their subsidiaries and affiliates domestically and abroad; and (ii) the Turkey-based entities of international banking groups.
As an experienced Director, the successful candidate will bring independent judgement, strategic ownership of the coverage franchise, and the seniority to lead — not merely participate in — internal and client engagement. They will originate, structure and execute the full suite of GPS solutions — payments and cash management, transactional FX, liquidity, trade finance, correspondent banking and commercial cards — leveraging Bank of America's global platform, always within the bank's risk appetite and correspondent banking governance standards.
The role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior client decision-makers, shape growth strategy across the portfolio and play a leading role in the continued expansion of Bank of America's Financial Institutions franchise in Turkey.
Responsibilities
Client Coverage & Relationship Management
Primary relationship and GPS sales responsibility for a portfolio of Turkish public and private sector banks, together with their Turkey-established subsidiaries and affiliates
Take strategic ownership of full-suite GPS coverage across the Turkish banking sector, proactively coordinating with home-country teams where a client forms part of a wider international banking group, while retaining primary responsibility for the Turkey-established entity
Own and drive client coverage strategies to strengthen relationships, increase product penetration and grow treasury revenue across the portfolio
Proactively identify and originate new business by engaging senior treasury, finance and business decision-makers across the Turkish banking sector
Act as a trusted advisor to clients on payments, cash management, liquidity, transactional FX, correspondent banking, trade finance and commercial cards
Maintain an in-depth understanding of client strategies, operating models and treasury priorities to deliver relevant and differentiated solutions
Business Development & Revenue Growth
Own treasury revenue growth, client strategy and product penetration across the assigned portfolio
Deepen wallet share and product penetration within existing relationships — cross-selling the full GPS suite against payment flows, correspondent balances and clearing activity — with transactional FX and liquidity a particular focus
Identify and develop incremental business opportunities within the target client universe and the bank's stated risk appetite
Deliver revenue growth and maintain a robust, well-managed sales pipeline in line with agreed goals and business objectives
Partner with clients to understand treasury objectives and align the bank's capabilities and product platform to their strategic priorities
Treasury Solution Origination & Execution
Originate, design, structure and present solutions across the full GPS product suite — payments and cash management, transactional FX, liquidity solutions, trade finance, correspondent banking (USD and multicurrency clearing) and commercial cards
Lead opportunities through the full sales cycle, including opportunity identification, solution development, proposal delivery, negotiation and deal closure
Prepare and deliver high-quality client presentations, proposals and strategic recommendations
Direct and coordinate internal resources, including the London-based Analyst and Associate teams, to support successful implementation and execution of client mandates
Drive disciplined sales execution and effective ownership of the opportunity pipeline
Partnership & Franchise Management
Proactively orchestrate internal partners — Product, Corporate Banking, Credit, Risk, Compliance, Global Financial Crimes, Operations, Implementation and Client Service — from deal inception, bringing a clear, independent point of view rather than routing decisions to others
Ensure alignment of client selection, coverage priorities and growth strategies with Corporate Banking partners
Work closely with product specialists across payments, liquidity, transactional FX, trade finance and commercial cards to deliver integrated client outcomes
Coordinate with home-country coverage teams for clients that form part of a wider international banking group
Provide leadership and direction to the supporting London-based Analyst and Associate teams, developing talent and ensuring high-quality delivery
Act as a leading contributor to the broader GPS Financial Institutions franchise through market engagement, client connectivity and strategic collaboration
Market Intelligence & Risk Management
Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, competitive developments and regulatory changes impacting the Turkish banking sector
Provide client and market feedback to management and business partners to support product development and business strategy
Apply rigorous, independent risk framing to new opportunities — leading with client classification, sanctions/AML considerations and product-policy fit — and engage Compliance, Global Financial Crimes and the Sanctions Centre of Excellence early
Ensure full adherence to all applicable regulatory, compliance, sanctions and risk management requirements
Balance commercial opportunity with sound risk management and governance standards, bringing a clear, owned view to internal decision-making
Role Expectations
This is an experienced Director-level role requiring independent judgement, proactivity, and strategic ownership of the coverage franchise — leading internal and client engagement rather than solely participating in it
Success is achieved through a combination of strategic client engagement, disciplined sales execution, and proactive, high-quality partnership across internal stakeholders
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, effective opportunity origination, and the ability to navigate and influence complex client organisations and stakeholder groups
A significant focus of the role is deepening Bank of America's penetration within the Turkish banking market through full-suite cross-sell and treasury solution origination, within a disciplined risk framework
The Director is expected to bring a clear, independent point of view to internal fora, take ownership of outcomes, and engage senior partners early and proactively
Regular, senior-level interaction with client treasury, finance and business decision-makers is a critical component of the role
As a senior member of the team, the Director will contribute to franchise growth, lead and develop the supporting London-based Analyst and Associate teams, and help drive strategic initiatives across the broader Financial Institutions business
What we are looking for
Extensive experience in Treasury Management Sales, Transaction Banking or bank / Financial Institutions coverage roles, at a level consistent with an experienced Director
Strong knowledge of the full treasury and transaction-banking product suite: payments and cash management, transactional FX, liquidity solutions, trade finance, correspondent banking (USD/multicurrency clearing) and commercial cards
Proven track record of independently managing and growing bank client relationships and delivering revenue growth through cross-sell and wallet-share expansion
Experience originating, structuring and executing treasury management opportunities across complex client organisations
Strong understanding of the Turkish banking landscape and broader international transaction banking market
Sound working knowledge of correspondent banking risk, sanctions and financial-crime considerations relevant to the Turkish market and cross-border USD clearing
Demonstrated ability to develop senior-level client relationships and influence key decision-makers, both externally and internally
A proactive, ownership-driven approach — bringing independent judgement and a clear point of view to complex commercial and risk decisions
Strong commercial, negotiation and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining high standards of execution and client service
Sound judgement and strong risk awareness in balancing client, business and regulatory requirements
Collaborative approach with the proven ability to proactively influence and orchestrate stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies
Experience leading, mentoring and developing junior colleagues within a sales environment
Fluent Turkish and English language skills are required; Arabic language capability would be advantageous
Success Profile
Delivers treasury revenue growth and increased product penetration across the bank client portfolio
Takes independent ownership of the coverage franchise, setting strategy and driving outcomes
Proactively orchestrates internal partners from deal inception, bringing a clear, independent point of view
Builds and sustains strategic relationships with senior client and internal stakeholders
Consistently cross-sells and executes new opportunities across the full GPS product platform, within the bank's risk appetite
Demonstrates strong commercial judgement, disciplined sales execution and sound, independent risk framing
Develops strong partnerships across Corporate Banking, Product Management, Global Financial Crimes and other key stakeholders
Leads and develops the supporting London-based Analyst and Associate teams
Contributes to franchise growth and enhances Bank of America's market position within the Turkish banking sector
Acts as a trusted advisor to clients and a valued senior leader within the broader GPS team
