Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our Platform & Hosting organization. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise automation solutions that improve the reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency of our global infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer with deep infrastructure expertise who is passionate about eliminating manual work through automation. This individual will develop reusable automation frameworks supporting cloud platforms, operating systems, virtualization, storage, databases, networking, observability, and enterprise management platforms.
This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for building automation that enables our organization to operate infrastructure as code.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise automation solutions supporting global infrastructure.
- Develop reusable automation frameworks for AWS, Azure, Windows Server, Linux, virtualization platforms, storage, databases, middleware, backup, and networking.
- Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Develop automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and other modern scripting languages.
- Integrate automation with enterprise platforms including ServiceNow, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, identity services, monitoring platforms, and configuration management tools.
- Create self-service infrastructure capabilities that reduce operational effort and improve deployment consistency.
- Automate server provisioning, patch management, compliance validation, security remediation, configuration management, and lifecycle operations.
- Partner with Platform Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Security, Architecture, and Operations teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Develop APIs and automation workflows that integrate enterprise infrastructure platforms.
- Build monitoring, reporting, and operational dashboards supporting infrastructure health and service reliability.
- Document automation standards, coding practices, and reusable engineering patterns.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
- 5+ years developing enterprise automation solutions.
- Expert-level Python development skills.
- Strong PowerShell and Bash scripting experience.
- Deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK).
- Experience with Windows and Linux administration.
- Experience building REST API integrations.
- Experience using Git and modern source control practices.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, identity management, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes, ECS, or container platforms.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Experience integrating with ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or similar.
- Experience automating enterprise patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Familiarity with AWS Organizations, IAM, Control Tower, and multi-account governance.
