What You'll Do
Enterprise Application Leadership
- Lead the planning, delivery, enhancement, and ongoing support of multiple enterprise business applications.
- Oversee application upgrades, system integrations, release planning, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time while balancing scope, quality, business priorities, and available resources.
- Partner with business leaders and technical teams to translate operational needs into effective technology solutions.
- Remove delivery obstacles, manage competing priorities, and help teams successfully execute complex initiatives.
Operational Management
- Maintain the stability, performance, and availability of enterprise applications.
- Lead incident response, problem management, change management, and root cause analysis efforts.
- Develop operational metrics and reporting to monitor system health, release quality, service levels, and overall performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, operational efficiency, and support processes.
- Ensure applications align with security standards, governance requirements, compliance expectations, and architectural best practices.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of application developers, analysts, administrators, and technical specialists.
- Establish clear expectations around accountability, delivery, documentation, collaboration, and customer service.
- Manage staffing, workload prioritization, performance management, and professional development.
- Foster a culture focused on ownership, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and strong execution.
Business Partnership
- Collaborate with leaders across multiple business functions to understand priorities and align technology investments.
- Help prioritize new initiatives, operational improvements, technical debt, regulatory requirements, and ongoing support work.
- Serve as a trusted liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure technology investments deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, user experience, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
Vendor & Financial Management
- Manage relationships with external software vendors and service providers.
- Monitor vendor performance, resolve escalations, and ensure service expectations are met.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, contract oversight, and technology spend for assigned platforms.
- Identify project and operational risks while developing practical mitigation plans.
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience leading enterprise applications, technology delivery, or IT operations.
- 5+ years of experience managing technical teams and driving successful project delivery.
- Experience supporting enterprise business applications such as HR systems, document management platforms, customer communications solutions, or similar enterprise technologies.
- Strong understanding of the software/application lifecycle, including requirements gathering, implementation, testing, deployment, production support, and ongoing optimization.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and organizational change in a complex enterprise environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with modern SaaS platforms and cloud-based enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, workflow automation, and enterprise data exchange.
- Background supporting large-scale enterprise application environments with multiple integrated business systems.
