Location: Based in Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham.Travel: Frequent domestic. European destinations not uncommon. Other parts of the world, occasionally. Full clean driving license and valid passport is necessary.Start Date: Negotiable, though position is immediately available.Salary/Renumeration: £24 to £26K (depending on experience), O/T when required and annual company bonus scheme (profit related).Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week minimum. Normal working hours are 7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 2.45pm Friday with 3/4 hour for lunch each day.Hours can vary relative to schedules and/or sudden demands. In conjunction time away may increase and may, sometimes, include weekends.This is a permanent position within the company, with an initial 3-month probationary period. As a testament to this success Oberlin Filter Ltd are currently in a continuing transition of growth, which has included a move to bigger premises to expand production capacity. Key Tasks and duties:Scheduled servicing of customers’ existing Oberlin systems.Technical callouts, fault-finding, liaising with customers.Installations, start-ups, commissioning, and customer training.Reporting, in writing, both internally and to customers.Customer technical support via telephone and e-mail.Compiling and publishing RAMS. Responsibilities will increase in line with training and development regarding the following: Hands-on engineering duties to cover equipment installation, filter service and technical troubleshooting in line with Oberlin Work Instructions and Operating Procedures.Use of machinery and hand tools.Ensuring attention to detail and a high level of workmanship is maintained.Ensuring an approachable and professional attitude.The need to demonstrate an aptitude for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.Liaise with your supervisor, customer visit brief/de-brief, post visit responses.Assist with purchase of Mechanical equipment and Materials.Use of Forklift Truck and Access Platforms as required. Training will be provided, as necessary.Continuous Improvement and development of mechanical equipment and materials in line with customer requirements and new applications.Adherence to all Quality and Health & Safety procedures ensuring traceability and upkeep of documentation.Developing service as part of the growing business.All other duties as required by the nature of the role. Personal observations/considerationsOberlin Filter Ltd has customers in a wide variety of industrial applications. You may be required to work in environments where allergies can prevail. These include:Factories producing nut productsEngineering/metal working factories where oil and oil mist are prevalent. A lot of our filtration equipment can be quite large. Some tasks/jobs occasionally require some work at height, typically ~3-5m high. TrainingA general Induction into the company will be followed by full in-depth product training in the UK, and possible further training in the USA, to ensure a full appreciation of Manufacturing Processes, Filter applications and capabilities. Training will be given in company internal systems and where appropriate will be tailored towards the needs of the company and the individual.
