Description

Now Brewing – Director of PRO Technology! #tobeapartner

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

Role focus: As a Director of PRO Technology, you will lead the strategy, delivery and sustainment of technology capabilities that support Starbucks partners across the hire-to-retire lifecycle. You will advance the Human Capital Management technology ecosystem, with SAP SuccessFactors as the primary platform, and ensure partner data moves reliably, securely and consistently across internal systems.

Key partnerships: You will work closely with the Partner Resources Organization (PRO), Coffee House Excellence (CHE), data science, audit, security and vendor partners to deliver resilient, scalable and compliant solutions that support critical HR, payroll, talent, learning, compensation and partner experience capabilities.

Key responsibilities include leading the HCM technology strategy, owning partner data integrations, partnering with PRO to deliver business outcomes, strengthening platform operations and developing high-performing technology teams.

As a Director of PRO Technology, you will…

  • Lead the HCM technology strategy for hire-to-retire capabilities – Define and execute a multi-year roadmap for SAP SuccessFactors and related partner technology capabilities, ensuring the platform supports enterprise HR priorities, global scalability, compliance, operational resilience and a simplified partner experience.
  • Own reliable partner data integrations across the enterprise – Lead the strategy and execution for partner data integrations between SAP SuccessFactors and internal systems, ensuring data accuracy, security, governance, availability and fit-for-purpose use across downstream business and technology platforms.
  • Partner deeply with PRO to deliver business outcomes – Serve as a trusted technology leader for the Partner Resources Organization, translating business needs into clear technology priorities, aligning stakeholders, managing tradeoffs and ensuring delivery of capabilities that improve partner, manager and PRO experiences.
  • Drive platform modernization and operational excellence – Strengthen the stability, scalability and maintainability of HCM platforms by reducing technical debt, improving release discipline, enhancing support models and ensuring strong incident, problem, change and vendor management practices.
  • Lead enterprise delivery across complex programs – Oversee cross-functional delivery across product, engineering, architecture, data, security, operations and vendors, ensuring programs are delivered with strong governance, clear accountability, measurable outcomes and thoughtful change management.
  • Develop and inspire high-performing teams – Build, coach and develop leaders and teams who bring strong technical judgment, product thinking, operational discipline and a partner-first mindset to mission-critical HR technology.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including experience leading enterprise platforms, technology product teams, engineering delivery, application sustainment or large-scale transformation programs
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers, technical teams, product teams, vendor teams or cross-functional delivery organizations
  • Experience with Human Capital Management platforms and hire-to-retire capabilities, including core HR, payroll, recruiting, onboarding, learning, talent, compensation, benefits, partner records or workforce data
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or comparable enterprise HCM platforms, including platform configuration, integrations, release management, data governance, security and sustainment
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, partner/employee data flows, APIs, middleware, data quality, privacy, security and downstream system dependencies
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with HR or Partner Resources stakeholders to translate business strategy into technology roadmaps, delivery priorities and measurable business outcomes
  • Experience leading mission-critical systems where reliability, compliance, accuracy and operational continuity are essential
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Experience managing strategic vendor relationships, service levels, contracts, roadmaps and performance expectations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Human Resources Technology or related field; advanced degree preferred

As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. Partners have access to short-term and long-term disability, paid parental leave, family expansion reimbursement, paid vacation from date of hire*, sick time (accrued at 1 hour for every 25 hours worked), eight paid holidays, and two personal days per year. Starbucks also offers eligible partners participation in a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, a discounted company stock program (S.I.P.), Starbucks equity program (Bean Stock), incentivized emergency savings, and financial well-being tools. Additionally, Starbucks offers 100% upfront tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University’s online program via the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, student loan management resources, and access to other educational opportunities. You will also have access to backup care and DACA reimbursement. Starbucks will comply with any applicable state and local laws regarding employee leave benefits, including, but not limited to providing time off pursuant to the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, and in accordance with its plans and policies. This list is subject to change depending on collective bargaining in locations where partners have a certified bargaining representative. For additional information regarding partner perks and more detailed information about benefits, go to starbucksbenefits.com.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

We believe we do our best work when we're together, which is why we're onsite four days a week.
