Description
The Psychology Associate develops, implements, and monitors individualized behavior support plans for people receiving services. The Associate participates as a member of the planning team for people receiving supports and helps to ensure that our behavioral assessment, training, and interventions promote positive outcomes and are aligned with Providence's mission of supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live and discover their best lives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Psychology Associate
- Continuously demonstrates commitment to Providence's mission, vision, values, and person-centered philosophy while advocating for the rights, dignity, and quality of life of people receiving supports.
- Conducts behavioral assessments, reviews relevant records, and gathers and analyzes relevant data to identify behavioral needs and inform individualized support strategies.
- Develops, implements, and monitors individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) using evidence-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered practices under the licensure of the Psychologist of record.
- Maintains accurate behavioral documentation and required service records in accordance with DDA, COMAR, and Providence standards including psychosocial assessments, case notes, case reviews, court reports, letters, etc
- Participates in the Person-Centered Planning process by providing behavioral recommendations, identifying teaching strategies, and ensuring behavior supports align with each person's , preferences, and needs.
- Provides consultation with people receiving supports, families, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams regarding behavioral support needs, functional communication, environmental modifications and strategies, as well as psychological testing and analysis.
- Provides training, coaching, and ongoing support to direct support professionals, supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent implementation of Behavior Support Plans. Provides ongoing feedback and coaching as needed.
- Supervise and support any Behavior Technicians that join the agency.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations, other applicable regulatory requirements, and organizational policies related to behavior support services.
- Supports behavioral health initiatives and special agency programs, as assigned.
Necessary Computer Skills for a Psychology Associate
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Payroll Database, Internet, etc.
- Experience with iCareManager is a plus.
Schedule for a Psychology Associate M-F. 20-25 Hours a week. Working between 8a-4p. Flexible Schedule.
Compensation for a Psychology Associate $40-55/ hour
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the education, knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
- Master's degree in Psychology required
- Licensed as a Psychological Associate by Maryland’s Board of Psychology.
- Meets all minimum requirements for licensure as a Psychology Associate in the state of Maryland.
- Basic knowledge of mental and physical characteristics of applicable population, psychotherapy, human behavior, and related issues.
- Ability to administer, score, and interpret a variety of psychological tests.
- Ability to handle case load with varying levels of disability and need.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation for frequent travel between work sites.
