Role Title: Assistant Brand Manager - Breakfast
Location: Melbourne, Vic
Hours: Full-time
Reporting to: Portfolio Director, Breakfast
At Mars Snacking, we believe that everyday moments deserve extraordinary taste. Across the globe and in millions of Australian households, our iconic brands bring smiles, energy, and connection every morning.
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Assistant Brand Manager (ABM) – Breakfast to join our dynamic marketing team in Melbourne. In this role, you’ll act as a co-pilot across household-favourite brands like Kellogg’s®, Nutri-Grain®, and Coco Pops®, taking end-to-end accountability for campaign execution, brand performance, and high-impact innovation projects.
If you have a strong commercial curiosity, love turning data into actionable growth strategies, and thrive when driving cross-functional projects to flawless execution, this is your platform to grow.
What You’ll Do
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Support the delivery of key brand and local innovation projects from concept through to launch, managing stage-gate rhythms and ensuring milestones are met on time, on brand, and on budget.
- Integrated Campaign Execution: Partner with creative, media, digital, and shopper marketing agencies to deploy memorable omnichannel campaigns that drive physical and mental availability.
- Commercial & Performance Analysis: Dive deep into consumer, shopper, scan sales, and brand health metrics to extract clear commercial insights, identify growth opportunities, and propose data-backed recommendations to leadership.
- Budget & Governance Discipline: Manage the Breakfast Advertising & Consumer Promotion (A&CP) budget, ensuring robust purchase order governance and adherence to business timelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & S&OP+: Act as the voice of brand readiness in S&OP+ feeder forums and activity management meetings, proactively flagging risks and presenting mitigation solutions.
- Champion Culture & Continuous Learning: Foster an open, collaborative team environment grounded in trust and curiosity, actively driving your own personal development and functional capability.
What We’re Looking For
You are an energetic marketing professional who combines creative passion with sharp commercial rigor:
- Experience: 2+ years of marketing experience within FMCG, CPG, or brand management (e.g., as a current Assistant Brand Manager, Marketing Coordinator, or Marketing Executive with proven project management track record).
- Education: Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to interpret Nielsen/Circana (IRI) scan data, consumer panels, and category insights into concise, actionable commercial takeaways.
- Execution Excellence: High operational discipline with demonstrated experience navigating stage-gate innovation processes, critical paths, and project risk management.
- Stakeholder Savvy: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and external agency networks.
- Commercial & Financial Acumen: Comfortable managing project budgets, understanding P&L drivers, and tracking A&CP spend.
Why you’ll love working for Mars:
· Purpose: Help craft beloved brands with a legacy of over 100 years of local manufacturing making products that people and pets will love all while helping to build a more sustainable future.
· People: A culture that values your contributions, fosters leadership, and recognises the impact you make. Your work truly matters here.
· Development: Shape your career with personalised development and real opportunities to grow from day one.
· Enjoy a team and business environment that is invested in helping you manage and grow your energy for work and life.
