What You’ll do:
- Partner with Product to plan, drive, and monitor progress across multiple projects and initiatives, so they are delivered on time and meet scope and quality expectations.
- Provide realistic solutions to obstacles, and communicate project details, impact, and status in a clear, meaningful way to technology leadership and product stakeholders.
- Remove impediments for the team so they can complete tasks and reach goals with minimal friction.
- Lead both development and QA, and make sure projects are delivered successfully while supporting business goals and employee retention and well-being.
- Plan staffing across development and QA for individual teams and large projects, realigning resources as needed to meet prioritized needs.
- Guide the definition, implementation, and maintenance of software development and quality assurance processes and methodologies, and drive initiatives that improve the efficiency and quality of deliverables.
- Partner with engineers, QA, and Product to define and implement solutions and strategies around software development process and best practices.
- Identify the skill sets needed for open development and QA positions, interview and assess candidates, and give feedback on selection while creating a positive onboarding experience.
- Meet regularly with each team member to discuss career growth and work progress, review deliverables, and give immediate, ongoing feedback that highlights contributions and opportunities for improvement.
- Foster a culture where the team is comfortable sharing mistakes and learning from them, and provide guidance that reduces the risk of recurrence while helping the team recover and move forward.
- Establish team goals, standards, and objectives, review key metrics, and hold the team accountable for progress.
- Assess individual skill sets and career goals on an ongoing basis, and foster growth through coaching and opportunities to stretch beyond current roles through delegation.
- Make sure team members have clear guardrails around assigned tasks, check in regularly, and help them develop the skill sets they need to succeed.
- Participate in incident postmortems and give thoughtful, actionable feedback.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
