Shipping Clerk - Legal Firm

On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking a Shipping Clerk to join a well-established legal and professional services firm with an international client portfolio. The successful candidate will form part of a dynamic shipping and maritime team, providing administrative and operational support whilst liaising with clients, crew agencies, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general administrative support within the Shipping Department.
• Assist with the review and processing of crewing applications and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate applications for seafarer documentation, certifications, and endorsements.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and follow up on the processing and issuance of documentation.
• Act as a point of contact for clients, crew members, and crew management agencies.
• Prepare invoices and assist with following up on outstanding payments.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure client files are kept up to date.
• Support the team with day-to-day shipping administration and compliance matters.
• Assist with various operational and administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

• A-Level standard of education or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Maltese will be considered an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in an administrative, secretarial, shipping, or maritime-related role will be considered an advantage
