Supply Chain Lead

An opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Management Lead to take ownership of end-to-end supply chain processes within the mining industry. The role focuses on Source-to-Pay, procurement, contracts, warehousing, inventory and supplier management, ensuring processes align with group standards and operate effectively across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end supply chain processes and make decisions on process standards and alignment with the group’s Global Template.
• Lead Source-to-Pay and procurement processes, including requisitions, sourcing, purchase orders, goods receipts, invoice matching and approval controls.
• Establish and manage processes for contract creation, approvals, variations and performance management.
• Oversee supplier onboarding, supplier master data standards and supplier performance management.
• Define warehouse processes covering receiving, storage, issuing, returns and stock counts.
• Establish inventory standards covering material master data, stocking strategies, reorder points, critical spares and obsolete stock.
• Act as the supply chain process owner for SAP and SAP Ariba, working with IT and the group template team.
• Ensure governance, compliance and approval controls are consistently applied.
• Monitor supply chain KPIs, including spend under contract, inventory accuracy and supplier performance.
• Challenge legacy practices and ensure standardised processes are adopted across operational teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Commerce or Engineering.
• At least 10 years of supply chain experience, with senior-level exposure across procurement, contracts, warehousing and inventory.
• Operational supply chain experience in mining or heavy industry, including site-level experience.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end Source-to-Pay processes, approval controls and supplier management.
• Proven experience in supply chain process ownership, setting standards, making decisions and ensuring compliance.
• Knowledge of SAP and SAP Ariba, ideally as a business or key user.
• Ability to challenge established practices and influence senior stakeholders.

Non-Negotiables

• 10+ years of supply chain experience, including senior-level responsibility across procurement, contracts, warehousing and inventory.
• Mining or heavy industry experience, including practical site-level operational exposure.
• End-to-end Source-to-Pay knowledge, including procurement processes, approval controls and supplier management.
• Demonstrated process ownership, with the authority and confidence to make decisions, establish standards and hold teams accountable.
• SAP and SAP Ariba awareness, ideally through business-user or key-user experience.
• Strong stakeholder influence, with the ability to challenge legacy practices and drive adoption of standardised processes.
