The work
The Senior SAP Finance Functional Consultant will serve as the primary subject matter expert for end‑to‑end SAP Finance and Product Costing processes, including Material Ledger functionality and integration points across Project Systems, Payroll, Materials Management, and Finance. This role requires deep Controlling (CO) expertise, including Internal Orders, Cost Center Accounting, Assessments, Distributions, and Cost Transfers, as well as familiarity with SAP Public Sector Financials and core SAP Financial Accounting.
You will lead requirements gathering sessions, design functional solutions, and work closely with technical teams to ensure that all configuration and development aligns with business needs. This role involves developing test strategies, managing complex testing cycles, performing business process design, and supporting cross-functional coordination between architects, developers, BASIS, Middleware, Portal teams, and business analysts.
You will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining SAP financial processes, building integrated solutions, and mentoring junior team members. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and broader work planning adds value in this senior functional role.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead client workshops to capture financial and costing requirements
- Design and configure SAP Finance and Controlling solutions that support integrated business processes
- Collaborate with technical teams to confirm that all functional and technical requirements align
- Develop detailed test strategies and manage large-scale testing efforts, including SIT/UAT
- Conduct business process analysis and produce functional designs
- Coordinate work across architects, developers, BASIS, Middleware, Portal, and business analysts
- Maintain and enhance SAP financial and costing processes, including integration with external applications
- Support project planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and staffing
- Lead and mentor junior team members
Here’s what you need:
- 7+ years of SAP Controlling experience
- Demonstrated team lead experience
Eligibility requirements:
- US Citizens only (no dual citizenship)
- Eligible to obtain a minimum of a Secret Clearance
- Must reside locally in St. Louis, MO or be willing to travel to St. Louis weekly
