Production Engineer

MAIN MISSION:

The Production Engineer will actively contribute to the good development of EXO INDUSTRIES in Malaysia by

using all his/her skills from the beginning of the production stage till the delivery of the equipment with the ultimate objective of bringing satisfaction to our clients.

EXO INDUSTRIES has its headquarters in France and is now looking to develop its regional office in Malaysia further.

JOB DESCRIPTION

He/she carries out production tasks such as capacity planning reviews and optimizes manpower and machine utilization rates for the factory.

He/she verifies the project (manufacturing) related documents such as Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), FAT

Procedures, Painting Procedures, NDE Procedure, and Welding Book etc. before the production stage.

He/she participates in production meetings with suppliers & with production team members according to the project & manufacturing related documents.

He/she participates and provides solutions in manufacturing concern discussions with suppliers/manufacturers, e.g. painting, galvanizing, machining etc.

He/she participates in production operation-related works, e.g. dismantling, fabrication, treatment, assembly, FAT, packing and logistics, with the objective of understanding equipment better & gaining knowledge of manufacturing limitations.

He/she undertakes the role of production focal point for assigned projects independently.

He/she can process and interpret the engineering drawings by the Mechanical Engineer, then delegate the tasks to the suppliers or internal production team.

He/she is responsible for investigating and providing solutions to any manufacturing issues.

He/she is always involved in continuous improvement activity to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of manufacturing-related issues or assignments.

He/she ensures conformity with the client's specifications of all production aspects of the projects he/she is in charge of.

He/she provides prompt responses to all manufacturing clarifications raised by suppliers, project team and the production team.

He/she is in charge of the creation of the manufacturing-related documentation for the projects.

He/she is versatile, such has the opportunity to lead additional missions following his/her skills.

He/she can work independently with organization skills and the ability to manage own workload under deadlines.

He/she is in charge of leading and facilitate the group of (internal/ external) workers together with the Workshop Lead in Malaysia.

He/she is responsible for keeping track of the inventory level of stock items, specifically long lead items.

WORK RELATIONSHIP

The Production Engineer reports to the Industrial Manager in Malaysia.

He/she works closely with the workshop team, procurement team, quality team and project team in Malaysia.

He/she works closely with Mechanical Engineers in Malaysia/ France.

He/she is actively contributing to the good relationships with local partners.

TASKS (Non-exhaustive list)

Carry out the production technical documentation.

Report the progress of his missions, and alert in advance if there are any identified manufacturing deviations.

As part of his/her missions, he/she may be requested to travel to France and other countries for short periods.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Engineer is responsible for the conformity of the studies he/she is in charge according to the defined objectives (budget, schedule, specifications, and regulations).

He/she is responsible for the conformity of production operation-related works he/she is in charge.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent major with a minimum 1 year of related experience

Adaptable to a fast-paced MNC environment.

Experience in structural steel fabrication would be an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication, and collaboration skills.

Initiative, good team player and willing to learn and grow with the company.

Good fundamental knowledge, specifically of Engineering Workshop, Measurement and Instrumentation, Manufacturing Process & System, Industrial engineering, etc.

Basic level in design software (SolidWorks & AutoCAD) to generate manufacturing-related reports, e.g. the weld map.

Good written and verbal skills in English and Malay. Additional spoken languages: Mandarin and French are a plus.
