About ImpactAssets

ImpactAssets is a $5B nonprofit impact investing leader founded in 2010.  Over the years, ImpactAssets has built an extensive impact investment platform, having invested in 1500+ private companies and impact funds addressing the world’s greatest challenges. ImpactAssets Capital Partners was created in 2022 to bring the ImpactAssets platform and customized investment services to institutional investors.

ImpactAssets and ImpactAssets Capital Partners together are catalyzing investment capital into mission-driven business models solving the worlds’ biggest challenges. The result? A fast growing, dynamic organization with an activated community of more than 1,800 clients. This level of growth, vision and commitment equals great opportunities to grow a career at ImpactAssets. We are seeking a wide range of colleagues that share our urgency and audacity for driving outsized capital to impact investing.  If you dream big, have a track record for solving problems and know how to ‘get stuff done’, this is the place for you!

The Opportunity

The Director of Client Engagement sets the direction for ImpactAssets' client experience - ensuring the team builds strong, lasting relationships, resolves client needs quickly, and connects what clients need with what the organization can deliver. This means turning feedback into action and making sure clients get the guidance and support they need to succeed in their philanthropic and impact investing work.

The Director leads a high-performing client engagement team, sets the tone for relationship excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and catalyzing impact through investing and grant making. Bringing deep expertise across philanthropy, impact investing, and developing systems that scale, this leader drives continuous improvement, elevates client satisfaction, and positions ImpactAssets to grow in step with the aspirations of the clients.

The Director of Client Engagement role is a full time, remote position and can work from anywhere in the US. As a remote, people-first culture, we care deeply about our team members’ connections to one another and as such, travel 2-3 times per year to company events will be required.

  • Ensure excellent onboarding experience for complex or strategic relationships, working cross-functionally to structure creative service solutions, ensure execution excellence, and drive timely resolution of issues.
  • Establish annual client engagement plans for top tier clients with Client Engagement officers, setting clear cross-selling, retention, and new contribution goals.
  • Lead through influence across the organization; coordinate cross-functionally to ensure seamless handoffs from prospect to onboarding to steady-state servicing; track expansion and improvement opportunities surfaced through client engagement.
  • Build and maintain a centralized, multi-quarter client experience improvement plan that prioritizes service and engagement upgrades, efficiencies, and cross-functional projects.
  • Identify patterns in client needs to inform product development, service design, and organizational priorities.

  • Act as a trusted internal resource and cross-functional partner across Business Development, Marketing, Legal/Compliance, Investments, and Operations, ensuring client engagement priorities are represented in shared initiatives.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and client-facing special projects as needed, bringing the same standard of excellence to project work as to core responsibilities.
  • Perform additional responsibilities aligned with the scope of the role.
