PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role owns day-to-day HR operations for Hong Kong and Macao, independently runs Compensation & Benefits, payroll and HRIS (Workday) to a zero-error standard, and partners the Senior HR and Talent Development Manager on recruitment, employee relations, staff engagement, office administration, and projects from HQ Paris and Greater China Area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Compensation & Benefits and Payroll
• Own payroll, commission, leave reconciliation, MPF / social security and statutory filings for Head Office and Retail in Hong Kong and Macao
• Prepare, check and submit monthly payroll and variable pay; investigate variances before submission
• Keep salary, benefits and claims data clean; support salary review, bonus and C&B costing in line with local law and Group compliance
2. HRIS (Workday) and People Analytics
• Own Workday data for hires, transfers, leavers, objectives setting and compensation accurately and timely
• Reconcile Workday with payroll, attendance and finance each month; close gaps before they become errors
• Prepare trusted HR reports (headcount, cost, turnover, leave, pipeline) with a short commentary for action
3. Talent Acquisition and on/off boarding
• Run full-cycle recruitment for Head Office and Retail, full-time and part-time, from brief to offer and pre-employment checks
• Deliver complete and on-time onboarding for new joiners
• Manage exits with accurate final pay, asset return, documentation and Workday off boarding
4. Employee Relations, Performance and Engagement
• First contact for employee queries: listen, respond and close the loop
• Administer performance and probation cycles; escalate sensitive cases with facts, options and a recommended action.
• Support HR policy rollout, staff engagement, team building and CSR activities
5. Administration and Workplace Operations
• Run office administration: supplies, vendors, facilities and a well-kept workplace
• Keep employee files, contracts, statutory records and HR trackers ready for audit
6. Projects and Partnership
• Own assigned HQ Paris and local HR project workstreams, from brief to close
• Support Greater China Talent Development projects with data, logistics and follow-through
• Take ad hoc requests through to done
PROFILE
• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related discipline
• 4+ years’ hands-on HR in Hong Kong, with direct ownership of C&B, payroll and HRIS; Macao exposure an advantage
• Workday owner (or equivalent: SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, IPL), able to run the local system independently
• Demonstrated numerical accuracy: comfortable with large data sets, formulae, reconciliations and finding error in a spreadsheet
• Advanced Excel and proven accuracy on payroll-scale data
• Solid knowledge of Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, MPF and statutory payroll
• Organized, self-driven and precise in a lean retail environment; active listener with practical problem-solving
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese; proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing
