[What the role is]
Artificial intelligence is creating new opportunities to enhance productivity, strengthen risk management and enable new forms of financial services. To support the responsible adoption of AI across the financial sector, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) works with financial institutions, AI firms, FinTechs, technology providers, academia and public-sector partners to develop the capabilities, partnerships and enabling frameworks needed to translate advances in AI into meaningful industry outcomes.Within MAS, the Financial Infrastructure & Artificial Intelligence Office (FIA) leads initiatives that strengthen the foundations for AI innovation in financial services. This includes ecosystem development, strategic partnerships, data and digital infrastructure, industry capability building, and national-level initiatives that support the safe, trusted and effective use of AI across the financial sector.
[What you will be working on]
This role focuses on strengthening AI capabilities and adoption across Singapore's financial sector. You will work closely with financial institutions to understand how AI is being deployed, identify barriers to adoption, and shape MAS' strategies to address them. Acting as a bridge between industry and MAS, you will work across policy, supervisory and industry development functions to ensure that MAS' initiatives support the responsible adoption of AI. By bringing together industry insights, implementation experience and regulatory perspectives, you will help create the conditions for financial institutions to deploy AI safely, responsibly and at scale.
Your responsibilities will include:
Industry Capability Development: Shape strategies to strengthen AI capabilities and adoption across the financial sector
Industry Engagement: Work closely with financial institutions and industry stakeholders to develop initiatives that support industry transformation
Industry Enablement: Improve the enabling environment for responsible AI adoption
Strategic Planning: Drive MAS' approach to supporting AI capability development and adoption across the financial sector
Industry Insights: Monitor AI adoption trends, implementation experience and emerging challenges across the financial sector to inform MAS' strategies and initiatives
[What we are looking for]
At least 5 years of relevant experience in strategy, consulting, industry development, innovation, business transformation, public policy, regulation, supervision, compliance or risk management within financial services or the public sector
Strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with AI adoption within financial institutions.
Understanding of how regulatory, supervisory, governance and compliance considerations influence AI adoption and deployment within financial institutions
Ability to identify industry-wide challenges and develop practical recommendations spanning industry development, supervisory engagement and policy considerations
Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage financial institutions, industry associations, technology providers and government agencies
Ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups and bridge industry, policy, supervisory, compliance and technology perspectives
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate industry insights into actionable strategies and initiatives
Excellent communication and writing skills, including experience preparing strategy papers, briefing notes and presentations for senior management
You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.
This is a 3-year contract. As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
