Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Screening in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and communicate professionally with employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and report issues according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of shipping, receiving, sorting, loading, parking, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor and contractor access as directed, and help maintain orderly movement of personnel and vehicles.
• Support security-related operations during package-handling and transportation activities while maintaining professional communication with employees, drivers, visitors, and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
