Your Opportunity, Your Team
As a Senior Furniture Merchant at Ballard Designs, you will manage casegoods, upholstery or outdoor furniture categories.
Using customer insights, brand knowledge, data analytics, and competitive intelligence, you will develop and manage a multi-faceted product assortment to success. The Sr Buyer creates business strategies, seasonal assortment plans, and tactical execution to achieve financial objectives that drive demand, profitability, and inventory turnover. The successful candidate will work across functions and sales channels to achieve objectives and further Ballard’s market position.
- This role is hybrid and will require you to be onsite in the Atlanta, GA corporate office 4-6 days per month. Relocation is not offered for this position.
What You’ll Do
- You will create and lead the product assortment strategy by making and influencing decisions at every stage of the product lifecycle; from inspiration to launch; initial line plan to design and sourcing, planning, pricing, product placement, and channel sales.
- Partner to develop and implement business strategies that maximize sales, margins, and inventory productivity. Build category-specific assortment architecture through seasonal assortment plans.
- In partnership with Design and Sourcing, initiate and develop a unique, proprietary, and focused product assortment that delivers quality, improves productivity, has a price/value relationship, and delivers on financial goals.
- Partner with Planning and Inventory to create line plans, and receipt budgets that maximize growth, profitability and achieve financial targets. Together, Planning and Merchants guide in-season results, maximizing opportunities while mitigating risk.
- Drive sales-channel specific strategies to further growth in ecommerce, retail stores and customer call center.
- Lead merchandising team of direct reports and connected team of indirect reports to accomplish shared goals while driving growth and customer file
- Drive cross-functional special projects within Ballard and Cornerstone organizations.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Merchandising, Marketing, or related field.
- 7+ years Merchandising, Buying, Sourcing, or Planning experience
- Experience in a vertically integrated retailer, with demonstratable success in product creativity and financial results
- Demonstrated understanding of sales analysis and financial metrics that relate to your business.
Remote work is not permitted in NYC at this time.
