Transition Manager – Cencora Business Services
The Transition Manager is responsible for planning and delivering end-to-end transitions of customer service and customer operations activities from local markets or functions into Cencora‘s Global Business Services (CBS). The role requires strong program and project management capability, structured transition execution, and effective stakeholder management to ensure business continuity, service quality, and timely delivery of agreed transition outcomes.
What you will be doing
The Transition Manager, Cencora Business Services leads complex, high-impact operational transitions across geographies, teams, functions, vendors, or business units. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end transition strategy, planning, execution, and stabilization to ensure seamless implementation with minimal disruption to business operations. The individual partners with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to establish governance, manage risk, oversee operational readiness, and ensure successful handoff to steady-state operations. The role coordinates activities across markets, CBS centers, IT and operational teams to ensure a controlled and compliant transition into the GBS operating model.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead complex, cross-functional global transition initiatives involving business process changes, operating model shifts, service migrations, or organizational realignment.
- Develop and execute comprehensive transition strategies, plans, milestones, dependencies, and governance structures.
- Partner with business leaders, functional teams, and external partners to define scope, roles, responsibilities, and success measures for transitions.
- Drive transition governance, including executive updates, decision forums, issue escalation, and progress reporting.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, and lead mitigation and resolution planning.
- Coordinate knowledge transfer and process handoff activities to ensure business continuity and operational effectiveness.
- Validate operational readiness across people, processes, systems, controls, reporting, and support models before implementation.
- Monitor transition execution and stabilization activities to ensure service continuity, performance, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Lead change management and communication efforts in partnership with key stakeholders to support adoption and readiness.
- Ensure all transition activities comply with internal policies, quality standards, business controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Analyze lessons learned and transition outcomes to recommend improvements to methodologies, governance, and operational practices.
- May provide guidance, coaching, or indirect leadership to less experienced team members.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, project management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires 6-10 years of experience in transition management, business operations, project management, program management, or related roles.
- Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional, global business transitions in complex environments.
- Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience delivering GBS or shared services transitions.
- Project Management certification (PMI, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is desirable

- Experience with Microsoft Office and project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. 4+ years of experience in analytics delivery, change management, process improvement, project management, or a related field required. Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile methodology (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or SAFe Agile), continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma etc.), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent certification preferred. Pharmaceutical industry dynamics and commercialization context, including how evidence and market requirements inform program priorities. Working knowledge of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) concepts and evidence-generation processes. Project management methods for planning, tracking, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and delivery governance. Documentation and quality review practices, including attention to detail and structured review workflows. Data and analytics concepts used to support reporting, planning, and decision-making. Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and related software used for analysis, reporting, and client-ready deliverables. Manage multiple cross-functional workstreams by setting timelines, milestones, and quality controls. Develop project plans, status updates, and execution materials that are clear, accurate, and fit-for-purpose. Support analysis and reporting by translating complex findings into clear implications for stakeholders. Produce and quality-assure deliverables with disciplined fact-checking and review practices. Prioritize and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple concurrent projects. Communicate complex concepts clearly in presentations and discussions, tailoring to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate effectively in team settings and coordinate inputs across contributors to maintain consistency and speed. Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align on objectives, assumptions, and outputs. Ability to sustain detailed, computer-intensive work while maintaining accuracy and composure under stress. Ability to remain mobile as needed to support meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement.What Cencora offers
