Join our team as a PRN Ultrasound Technologist at Riverton Hospital. We're seeking an experienced, fully registered Ultrasound Technologist to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services and help support variable staffing needs by picking up shifts as department needs arise.Posting Details

- Schedule / Shift Details: Variable. PRN coverage. Can pick up available shifts based on department need.
- Additional Details: Qualified candidates with applicable experience may be hired as an Ultrasound Technologist II.
Qualifications
- Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) - Successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, and vascular)
- Health Services\BCLS - Basic life support (Certification for Healthcare Providers)
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 or more years of experience.
Acute care or hospital ultrasound experience
Essential Functions
- Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to department protocols and physician orders.
- Reviews images for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Verifies patient identity, explains procedures, and ensures patient comfort and safety.
- Maintains ARDMS certification and modality-specific competencies.
- Practices appropriate infection prevention and sterile technique.
- Documents procedures and maintains accurate patient records.
- Operates ultrasound equipment and related systems effectively.
- Assists with training and mentoring students and staff as needed.

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
