About the role
We are looking for an analytical, systems-oriented product designer who enjoys solving complex technical problems.
You will take ownership of the experience for significant product areas, working alongside another product designer and a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, and domain experts. You will also collaborate with designers across SLB when work connects with other products, platforms, or shared experiences.
You will simplify intricate workflows, organize complex information, and create coherent experiences across enterprise applications and connected digital ecosystems.
This role is about more than creating polished interfaces. It requires understanding users, systems, data, technology, and business needs—and balancing them to make sound product decisions.

What you’ll do
\- Lead experience design for significant product areas, from understanding the problem through delivery and continued improvement.
\- Shape new experiences and evolve established products while navigating legacy systems, technical constraints, and existing user expectations.
\- Understand complex workflows, user roles, permissions, data relationships, and cross-product dependencies.
\- Translate user, business, stakeholder, and technical needs into clear experience models and workflows.
\- Create information architectures, wireframes, prototypes, interaction designs, and detailed interface specifications.
\- Plan and conduct appropriate user research and usability testing, translating findings into actionable improvements.
\- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, domain experts, and other designers.
\- Use and contribute to design systems to create consistent, accessible, and scalable experiences.
\- Communicate design reasoning clearly and explain decisions and trade-offs using evidence.
\- Facilitate conversations that align multidisciplinary teams around user needs and experience outcomes.
\- Track usability issues and improve products using research, feedback, product data, and technical insights.
\- Contribute to the practices, quality, and culture of the wider design community at SLB.

What we’re looking for
\- Approximately 6+ years of product or UX design experience, with evidence of sound judgment and independent ownership.
\- Experience designing complex B2B, enterprise, technical, scientific, industrial, or workflow-intensive applications.
\- Strong systems thinking, including the ability to identify relationships, dependencies, patterns, and downstream consequences.
\- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguity and incomplete information.
\- Deep knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, user research, usability, prototyping, and human-centred design.
\- Ability to determine which design activities are needed based on the problem, available evidence, risks, and delivery constraints.
\- Ability to understand technical concepts and collaborate effectively with engineers and subject-matter experts.
\- Strong visual and interface design skills supported by clear product and interaction-design reasoning.
\- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
\- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with another designer and the wider product team.
\- A curious, motivated, and receptive approach to giving and receiving feedback.
Education
\- Formal education in interaction design, product design, HCI, or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred.
\- A combination of technical or engineering education and postgraduate design education—such as a BTech or BE followed by an MDes—is particularly valued.
