About the Role
Prepare journal entries related to the company’s credit card portfolio by maintaining records as well as reconciling general ledger and deposit accounts, researching questions and interpreting data.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare daily credit card settlement journal entries, credit card settlement runs, wire transfers and reconcilements.
- Maintain monthly fixed assets (disposals and capitalization).
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reporting packages.
- Review and approve expense reports.
- Serve as back up for research and approval of supplier invoices.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of departmental policies, guidelines and protocols.
Skills and Qualifications
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
- Associate’s degree in accounting and/or 3 years’ experience in a financial institution environment preferred.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Accounts Payable knowledge preferred.
