The Postdoctoral Research Associate, under general supervision, conducts research into their field of expertise that is synergetic with the lab. Utilizes the skills and expertise granted to them by their education and experience to complete research projects in their field of expertise. Writes and may contribute to research papers, articles, and publications. Assists with the preparation and cleaning of worksite. May collaborate with other researchers and/or faculty.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
Appropriate PhD in Information Science or in a related field.
Not applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in data science, and/or public health or related fields including health services research, health informatics, computer science.
Experience in data analysis using statistical software & machine learning (e.g., R, Python, SAS, or STATA).
Experience working with large population dataset (e.g. EHR, claims data).
Background in health informatics, population health research, or biostatistics, computer science, data science.
Experience in grant writing and obtaining research funding.
Experience in qualitative research, survey research, mixed methods, and analysis is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, and collaborative environment.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Knowledge in public health such as Epidemiology, or Health services.
Responsibilities:
Research
Under general supervision, designs health database studies and conducts the full research including, data management, analysis, and writing reports and papers based on the analysis.
Utilizes knowledge and skills granted to them by their education and expertise to complete research projects in the Population Informatics Lab.
Analyzes research data and summarizes results.
Writes and contribute to research papers, articles, and publications.
Administrative/Mentoring
Assists, mentors, and/or supervises student researchers and/or graduate students who are working on the project.
Presentations
Prepares presentation materials on research topics that may be presented to small and/or large groups.
Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors.
Other duties as assigned.
