Team Overview
The South Africa Billing team is responsible for the billing activities within the South Africa Billing function, ensuring that all billing processes are executed in compliance with Company and Accounting standards. Operating in a vibrant, fast-paced, and performance-driven environment, the team partners with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Sales, Finance, Strategy, and Leadership teams, to drive business results and support TransUnion's growth objectives. The role reports to the Senior Consultant Billing within the broader Finance team. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
- First line of responsibility for all financial inputs into allocated business units.
- Managing compliance with financial and management accounting controls and principles.
- Applying the correct accounting treatment as appropriate.
- Review and management of new and current contracts.
- Reconciliation of customer accounts and ensuring billing has been done correctly.
- Be able to analyze client usage and the billing thereof.
- Preparation for month end / quarter end / year end, including processing of journal entries, credit and rebill entries, provisions, and reconciliations.
- Assist with / preparation for internal and statutory audits.
- Proactively drive initiatives to resolve system, process and policy shortcomings by fixing root cause issues.
- Work with business units to ensure that billing is in line with expectations, including contract rates and usage, while addressing internal and external queries timeously and accurately.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
- Financial-related Degree
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar capacity
- Strong computer literacy with advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of computerised accounting systems (PeopleSoft)
- Sound understanding of operational finance processes and practices
