The role provides high-quality medical and scientific insight to internal and external stakeholders, supports the development and implementation of local medical plans, and ensures compliant scientific engagement and communication in line with GSK policies, applicable laws, and industry codes of practice. The role is office-based and has no direct reports but works as an integral member of the BeLux Specialty & Respiratory Medical Affairs team in a cross-functional matrix environment.

Key Responsibilities

Medical strategy & planning (COPD portfolio – Specialty & Respiratory)

Contribute to the development and local adaptation of medical affairs plans for COPD assets (specialty and respiratory), aligned with global and regional medical strategies and BeLux business priorities.

Translate global evidence and medical strategy into locally relevant tactics and metrics to support optimal patient outcomes and access.

Scientific engagement & external expert interaction

Plan and execute compliant non-promotional medical activities (e.g. scientific exchange, consultancy, advisory boards, congress-related engagements) to generate insights on COPD care gaps, treatment pathways and patient profiles for specialty assets.

Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant External Experts with support of MSLs (pulmonologists, respiratory specialists, key opinion leaders and peripheral ENTs where relevant to COPD), ensuring high scientific integrity in all engagements.

Insight generation & evidence / access support

Leverage the insights systematically gathered by the four MSLs from external stakeholders to synthesize and communicate key findings that inform local COPD medical strategy, evidence generation priorities and market access discussions for specialty assets.

Medical governance & compliance (therapy-area level)

Ensure all COPD-related medical activities and materials within scope follow GSK written standards, ABAC requirements and local regulations, including appropriate review and approval processes for non-promotional activities and scientific content.

Actively contribute to local medical governance forums as required (e.g. Medical Governance Board / relevant committees), providing COPD-specific medical input and risk assessment.

Cross-functional collaboration (office-based matrix role)

Work closely with Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, PV and other partners to ensure a coherent COPD medical strategy and aligned execution across specialty and respiratory portfolios in BeLux.

Provide medical training and scientific support to internal teams (e.g. MSLs, brand teams, customer-facing colleagues) on COPD disease, data, guidelines and product positioning, ensuring non-promotional, evidence-based communication.

Medical information & scientific communication

Ensure timely, accurate and balanced responses to unsolicited medical information requests on COPD assets, in collaboration with Global / local Medical Information where applicable.

Support the development and internal dissemination of scientific materials (e.g. slide decks, scientific summaries, training content) for COPD in line with GSK medical communications standards.

Measurement, documentation & continuous improvement

Define and track relevant KPIs for COPD medical activities to demonstrate value and impact on patient outcomes and stakeholder understanding.

Ensure appropriate documentation and archiving of medical activities, approvals and materials in the relevant systems (e.g. VQD, Content Lab, local repositories), supporting audit-readiness and management monitoring requirements.
