About the role
Senior Commercial Analyst
Join AGL's Credit & Affordability team and play a key role in shaping commercial decisions that support more than 4 million customer services and approximately $8 billion in annual billings across AGL's retail portfolio. Reporting to the Commercial Insights & Analytics Manager, you'll partner with operational leaders to deliver financial insights, strategic analysis, and data-driven recommendations that influence business performance. From forecasting and financial modelling to scenario planning, business case development, reporting, and performance analysis, you'll help drive informed decision-making across a critical area of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis for the Credit & Affordability portfolio, identifying key risks and opportunities.
Develop financial models, business cases and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
Deliver commercial insights and recommendations that drive informed decision-making and business performance.
Utilise Power BI, SQL and large datasets to generate actionable insights and improve reporting effectiveness.
Prepare executive-level reporting and presentations that translate complex data into clear business outcomes.
Partner with leaders across Finance, Credit & Affordability and Customer Operations to strengthen commercial governance and deliver strategic results.
What You'll Bring
Demonstrated experience in a commercial, finance, strategy or analytical role within a large, complex organisation.
Strong capability in financial forecasting, budgeting, modelling and scenario analysis, with a track record of translating data into actionable insights.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience working with large datasets, Power BI, SQL and Excel.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders, develop robust business cases and drive commercial outcomes through data-driven decision-making.
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related discipline, with experience in credit, collections, financial services, utilities or other data-rich environments highly regarded.
