Senior Automation & Integration Test Engineer

Miele Tehnica is a subsidiary of Miele & Cie. KG, Germany. We produce electronic components for a wide range of Miele appliances, such as washing machines, tumble dryers, vacuum cleaners, ovens and other household appliances. The products Miele offers to its customers set the standards for durability, performance, ease of use, energy efficiency, design and service.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, execute, and maintain automated tests systematically using Python and pytest
• Analyze requirements and define, execute, and evaluate manual test scenarios
• Specify and run manual and automated tests for the application, both in simulated environments and on the target embedded platform
• Take ownership for design, execute, and evaluate software tests across different test levels, with a strong focus on integration testing
• Evaluate test results, analyze failures, and systematically narrow down the root causes of defects
• Contribute to CI/CD-based automated test execution 
• Build expertise, define best practices, and ensure that testing knowledge is shared across the QA team

Your Profile

• Several years of experience in testing embedded software
• Strong practical experience with Python and pytest
• Strong expertise in designing, implementing, maintaining, executing, and evaluating automated software tests
• Experience with various test levels, especially integration testing
• Understanding of embedded systems, interfaces, and hardware-related software 
• Experience working with hardware
• Ability to evaluate test results and systematically identify potential causes of defects
• Experience with CI/CD environments and automated test execution
• Knowledge of common tools for version control and defect tracking, for example Git and Jira
• Fluent English; knowledge of German is an advantage

Nice to Have

• ISTQB certification
• Experience with Agile development environments
• Additional experience with embedded software test frameworks or hardware-in-the-loop testing is an advantage

Education

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
