Description
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department through benefits administration, employee records management, compliance activities, onboarding support, and HR process administration. They serve as the primary resource for employee benefits and support the administration of HR programs, systems, and documentation. The HR Generalist partners with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate HR processes, maintain compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, and contribute to a healthy and welcoming workplace culture.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain personnel files and employee records in accordance with organizational practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and benefit-related issues.
- Lead administration of the annual Open Enrollment process, including communication, enrollment support, and carrier coordination.
- Coordinate benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and benefit changes.
- Reconcile benefit invoices and coordinate with external vendors and carriers.
- Create, maintain, and update HR process documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with new hire payroll setup and ensure timely submission of employment documentation.
- Manage I-9 administration, audits, and compliance activities.
- Provide administrative support to the Chief People Officer and HR/Payroll team.
- Assist with HR-related projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Assist with talent acquisition activities, including candidate outreach, screening interviews, and coordination throughout the hiring process.
- Manage office-related functions including supplies, organization of HR storage areas, and workspace coordination.
- Support a healthy and welcoming organization culture.
- Administer COBRA and other benefit continuation programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Reports To: HR Manager
Requirements
- Experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, or HR operations.
- Experience administering employee benefits, Open Enrollment, COBRA.
- Knowledge of HR compliance requirements, including I-9 administration and records management.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; Paylocity experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
