Job Description

As a Security Officer Educational Building Patrol Awareness in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity, reliability, and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking locations, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity for unusual conditions, helping to deter unauthorized access and reporting concerns according to established procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and related documentation, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and campus stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
