Northwood Oaks Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Lead Veterinary Technician!

 

Position Details

Role: Lead Veterinary TechnicianStatus: Full-timeSalary: Negotiable and based on experienceSchedule: 1-2 days off. Shifts are usually 7:20 am - 4 pm or 5 pm. Or 8:30 am - 6:30 pm. 2 Saturdays a month, 8 am - 2 pm

Northwood Oaks Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, mentoring fellow technicians, and helping build an outstanding hospital culture. What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and support veterinary technicians and assistants
  • Train new team members and encourage continued professional development
  • Partner with the Hospital Manager to oversee daily workflow and hospital operations
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgery, and medical procedures
  • Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and accurate medical records
  • Perform laboratory testing and prepare samples for reference laboratories
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments
  • Intubate and extubate patients while monitoring anesthesia throughout procedures
  • Prepare surgical patients, instruments, and equipment while maintaining sterile technique
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs using proper positioning techniques
  • Educate clients on preventative care, medications, nutrition, and treatment recommendations
  • Help ensure the highest standards of patient care, client service, and operational excellence are consistently achieved

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician; leadership experience preferred
  • Current veterinary technician license preferred where applicable
  • Strong technical skills, including anesthesia monitoring, surgery support, laboratory procedures, radiology, and patient nursing
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • A passion for mentoring, coaching, and supporting teammates
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative leadership style built on accountability, compassion, and respect
