Engineer III
Full-Time | 2nd Shift
BHCOR-Plant Engineering I Corbin, KY
The Engineer III role represents a mid-level position within our Facilities Engineering Department. This position demands a higher level of expertise and experience in various maintenance areas, including advanced electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs. Under the guidance of the Engineering leadership, the Engineer III ensures that our healthcare system's infrastructure operates at peak efficiency and meets all necessary regulations and standards. This role places patient care and infection control standards as a top priority, integrating these standards into all activities. The role may require working outside of regularly scheduled shifts, in inclement weather, or in situations of emergency. All roles within the Engineering department are required to adopt and utilize the CMMS work order system to effectively communicate across the organization and manage activities and assets.
Description:
Performs advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems.
Utilizes the CMMS work order system to prioritize, document, track, and complete maintenance activities, asset information, permits, and repairs.
Ensures all work complies with building codes, NFPA, Joint Commission/accrediting standards, life safety requirements, and hospital policies.
Diagnoses equipment and facility issues using specialized tools while maintaining safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Adheres to patient care, infection prevention, and ICRA requirements, utilizing appropriate PPE and following established infection control procedures.
Documents maintenance activities, repairs, and troubleshooting efforts accurately and communicates effectively with leadership and team members.
Participates in departmental improvement initiatives, training, emergency response, disaster preparedness, and continuous professional development.
Responds to after-hours, emergency, and inclement weather situations as needed to support facility operations.
Maintains compliance with hospital safety policies, Life Safety Program, Emergency Preparedness, required training, and appropriate use of safety equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned in support of Engineering operations.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum four (4) years of experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related trade
Valid driver's license required
