It is not a remote job, and the Road Mechanic will travel daily to construction job sites in a company-provided service truck. The role suits a self-motivated and independent problem solver ready to enhance our operational capabilities and contribute to our sustained success.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTravel daily to construction job sites in a company-provided service truck to inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment.Report and coordinate with the Fleet Manager regarding equipment status, repair priorities, and parts needs.Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and small engines.Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering, brakes, suspension, and drivetrain components.Repair and maintain excavators, skid steers, loaders, bulldozers, rollers, compactors, and other construction equipment.Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency service calls to minimize downtime.Perform welding and light fabrication repairs as needed.Conduct equipment inspections and identify repairs before failures occur.Maintain service records, preventative maintenance schedules, and repair documentation.Maintain inventory of commonly used service parts and supplies on the service truck.Ensure all repairs meet company safety standards and manufacturer specifications.Assist with shop repairs and fleet maintenance when not performing field service work.Support winter operations by maintaining and repairing snow removal equipment.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Fleet Manager.RequirementsExperience repairing heavy construction equipment required.Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.Experience servicing excavators, loaders, skid steers, bulldozers, trucks, and trailers.Welding and fabrication experience preferred.Vocational or technical mechanic certification preferred.Valid driver's license required.CDL preferred.Ability to safely operate diagnostic equipment and shop tools.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Must be self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.Strong communication and organizational skills.What We OfferCompetitive Pay Based on ExperienceCompany Service TruckHealth, Dental & Vision InsuranceCompany-Paid Life InsurancePaid Time OffPaid Holidays401(k) with Company MatchEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Year-Round WorkOpportunities for AdvancementStable, Family-Owned CompanyJoin the Roche Bros.
