Overview and Responsibilities

The Events & Engagement Specialist leads the planning and execution of strategic events, engagement initiatives and campus experiences that support CVTC’s enrollment and community impact goals. This role develops and maintains strong partnerships with secondary schools, elected officials, community stakeholders, alumni, and prospective students. The Events & Engagement Specialist coordinates high-impact events and delivers engaging, customized experiences that elevate CVTC’s visibility and strengthen connections across diverse audiences. Through intentional outreach and thoughtful communication, this position fosters meaningful engagement and advances pathways to enrollment and long-term institutional support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a highly engaged member of CVTC’s Strategic Communications & Community Engagement team focused on fostering, maintaining and increasing positive working relationships with prospective students, community agencies, elected officials, CVTC Alumni and organizations to ensure CVTC is viewed positively as a community resource and considered a premier partner in education and training.
  • Drive the strategy, planning, and execution of a comprehensive portfolio of CVTC-hosted events designed to strengthen recruitment, enhance career exploration, train the workforce, and advance alumni engagement.
  • Design, coordinate, and continuously enhance high-impact campus visit experiences that inspire visitors and convert prospective students.
  • Deliver engaging event experiences that effectively demonstrate the value of CVTC programs, career pathways, and student support services to prospective students, alumni, community partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Analyze and report on event metrics, participation, and engagement outcomes to evaluate event effectiveness, support data-driven decision making, and recommend and implement continuous improvements to maximize attendance, engagement, and conversion outcomes.
  • Oversee logistics, scheduling, and communication for all campus-based experiences for identified audiences to ensure seamless, high-quality visitor engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure campus experiences reflect current programming, facilities, and industry alignment.
  • Support and expand innovative and cohesive Academic & Career Planning (ACP) and other grant-funded initiatives.
  • Coordinate CVTC representation at external events, including college fairs, career fairs, community events and partner-hosted programs.
  • Develop and maintain communication templates, outreach campaigns, and engagement strategies aligned to the student journey.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize event planning tools, timelines, project management systems, online scheduling systems, and communication workflows to improve team efficiency, support successful event execution, and enhance the user experience.
  • Coordinate onboarding, training, and project management for student ambassadors supporting recruitment and campus visit experiences.

  • Proficient knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication, virtual meeting platforms, data collection, and decision making including, but not limited to, Office 365 Suite.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekend as well as travel to various regional campuses as necessary, schools, and other sites in CVTC's 11-county district as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field with a minimum of two years of professional experience focused on event and project management; or, associate’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field with a minimum of six years of professional experience focused on event and project management.

2026 annual benefits include:
