General Description
People Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for managing end to end payroll, compensation, benefits, and employee administration processes to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant people operations. This role oversees payroll execution, statutory compliance, employee benefits administration, and operational governance while maintaining high standards of service quality and confidentiality.
The role serves as the primary point of contact for payroll and benefits related matters, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure smooth operations, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end to end monthly payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely salary disbursement.
- Review and validate payroll components including salary adjustments, allowances, overtime, incentives, reimbursements, deductions, and final payments.
- Perform payroll reconciliation and resolve discrepancies before payroll processing.
- Maintain payroll confidentiality and ensure payroll records are complete and accurate.
- Administer employee benefits programs including BPJS Kesehatan, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, private insurance, and other company benefit schemes.
- Process employee enrollment, updates, and termination for benefit programs.
- Coordinate with insurance providers and external vendors regarding employee benefits administration.
- Monitor benefit utilization and recommend operational improvements to enhance employee experience.
- Ensure payroll operations comply with Indonesian labor regulations, payroll taxation (PPh 21), and statutory reporting requirements.
- Manage employee administration related to employment changes, payroll records, employee letters, and statutory documentation.
- Prepare payroll related documentation for internal and external audits.
- Maintain payroll SOPs and supporting documentation to strengthen operational governance.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll and employee administration processes.
- Standardize payroll procedures and documentation to improve operational consistency and efficiency.
- Support implementation of new payroll or operational policies.
- Act as the primary contact for payroll, compensation, and benefits related inquiries.
- Collaborate with Finance, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and external vendors to ensure seamless people operations.
- Provide timely operational support and guidance on payroll and employee administration matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Psychology, Human Resource Management, or any related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Payroll, compensation, and benefits. Having exposure to data analytics is preferred
- Strong understanding of Indonesian labor regulations and tax compliance
- Experienced in managing payroll and HRIS systems
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Spreadsheet
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of employees’ information
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team, and capable of handling a tight timeline
