Manager Planning - Solids

The Position

In this role you ensure the timely and complete delivery of products in line with customer requirements. You contribute to the ongoing professionalization of the department by driving improvements in quality, safety, and productivity, while further developing planning processes and team capabilities. You will report to the Supply Chain Director and you will be part of the Site Supply Chain and IPT (Integrated Process Team) Solids Leadership team.

The Center of Excellence for Supply Chain Management (CoE SCM) oversees all Planning and Logistics activities for the Oss site. The department consists of Logistics and Planning teams, led by the Director Supply Chain Management, and is focused on ensuring efficient supply chain operations and continuous improvement.

The Solids Planning Group supports IPT Solids, the manufacturing unit responsible for producing and packaging solid oral dosage forms. IPT Solids operates as an autonomous organization of approximately 180 employees across Production, Packaging, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and the site-wide Weighing & Dispense function.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and further develop a team of five Planners.
• Collaborate closely with Supply Chain and IPT leadership to develop the annual strategic plan.
• Translate strategic objectives into long-term, mid-term, and short-term planning frameworks.
• Develop and implement long-term capacity, resource, and API planning strategies to support business needs and scalability.
• Lead risk management and scenario planning for critical products, ensuring business continuity and mitigating potential disruptions.
• Coordinate, monitor, and continuously optimize end-to-end planning processes to ensure reliable supply and operational efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels, minimize rejects and discards, and drive timely corrective actions.
• Drive alignment between local planning strategies and global supply chain objectives.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Production, Engineering, and external partners to influence decision-making and strengthen collaboration.
• Initiate and independently lead strategic improvement initiatives and cross-functional SCM/ IPT projects.
• Maintain in-depth expertise in Oral Contraception and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes to support accurate forecasting, capacity planning, and operational execution.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• At least 7-10 years of planning experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership capabilities, including people management and team development.
• Strong prioritization and decision-making skills, with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with scenario planning.
• Expertise in planning systems and ERP tools.
• Continuous improvement mindset with the agility to drive and adapt to change.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Dutch.
