THERAPIST, REHABILITATION

Job Description:

• To perform professional Occupational Therapists duties as assigned by HOS including quality performance and occupational therapy management activities, with exact duties varying on a rotational basis, although every effort will be made to adhere to the services' stated needs and objectives.

Appointed as occupational therapy clinical preceptor.

• Ensure that all patients receive the proper professional assessment, care, and attention in order to uphold internationally recognised standards of occupational therapist practice.
• To carry out basic occupational therapy procedures such as activity daily living (ADL), hand function retraining, splinting, sensory integrative therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (neuro), motor training (neuro), sensory desensitization/reeducation, energy conversation, work simplification and joint protection technique.

Responsible for looking after all related quality activities.  

• To ensure appropriate treatment records are maintained and help in monitoring of record keeping.
• To ensure appropriate recording of any incident/ accident involving patient under care of Occupational Therapist.
• To document any defects in any equipment or machine in the monthly equipment report book. Furthermore, ensure that proper action is taken and followed.
• To be committed to continuing personal professional development to ensure all of the above are properly carried out to the highest professional standards.
• Maintaining and updating manuals, policies and procedures of the KPJ Seremban Specialist Hospital including risk management, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Patient Safety Goals and other international and national accreditation.
• Carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act (Amendments) 2022 and Other Regulation:-
• To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons
• To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty
• To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer
• To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health
• Participate actively in any new service that is introduced.
• Ensure adhere to Standard People Practice (SPP).
• Ensure cleanliness, tidiness and maintain proper housekeeping in the services.
• Ensure the policies on patients and family’s rights are addressed at all times.
• Ensure compliance to Patient Safety Goals as safety improvement measures which have been adopted by KPJ Seremban Specialist Hospital.
• Maintain proper hand hygiene throughout the workplace

Job Requirement:

Education:

Knowledge and Experiences:

• Minimum: Diploma in occupational therapy.
• Preferred:   Diploma or degree in occupational therapy with more than 1 year of experience.
• Possession of valid Practicing Certificate issued by the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) (or equivalent national body)
