PURPOSE
The AVP HNW Underwriter will be responsible for establishing and enhancing FWD Private’s High Net Worth underwriting capabilities across key Asian and global markets. The role will support the development of a differentiated underwriting philosophy and service model tailored to affluent, HNW and UHNW customers distributed through private banks, brokers and strategic partners. The incumbent will work closely with distribution, medical, operations and reinsurer partners to deliver a best-in-class underwriting experience, balancing risk management, speed and client-centricity.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Design and implement FWD Private’s HNW underwriting philosophy, governance and operating framework aligned to business growth objectives
Underwrite complex HNW and UHNW life insurance cases across multiple jurisdictions and product solutions
Develop underwriting guidelines and referral protocols tailored for affluent and private banking segments
Partner with reinsurers to optimize underwriting capacity and facultative support for jumbo cases
Collaborate with distribution teams, brokers and private banks to support case strategy and execution
Contribute to underwriting training and capability development across FWD markets
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, Medical Sciences or related disciplines
Minimum 8–12 years of life underwriting experience including HNW/UHNW business
Regional underwriting experience across Asia preferred
Professional underwriting qualifications advantageous
KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
Advanced knowledge of life and health underwriting principles
Strong understanding of cross-border structures and financial underwriting
Deep understanding of reinsurance structures and jumbo retention management
Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
