WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Manage the overall operations of the Distribution Centre through effective forecasting, labour planning, and standardized operational processes to drive efficiencies, productivity, and cost savings.
- Drive consistent execution of standardized processes through coaching, monitoring, colleague development, and adherence to established operational procedures.
- Actively lead organizational culture initiatives to foster a positive, engaged, and high-performing work environment that supports colleague retention.
- Monitor and evaluate operational and team performance, proactively addressing challenges and ensuring consistency and accountability across all shifts.
- Review inbound and outbound volumes, assess operational capacity, and develop plans to support workflow efficiencies and outbound service requirements.
- Oversee labour scheduling and workforce planning, including union vacation planning in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), statutory holiday planning, and daily staffing requirements by function.
- Ensure appropriate training and cross-training programs are in place to maintain operational flexibility and sufficient coverage across all functions.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships across the Distribution Centre and with key business partners, including Replenishment, Scheduling, Retail, and Transportation.
- Lead, coach, and evaluate the performance of Senior Supervisors and their teams, providing ongoing feedback, development, and support to achieve operational targets.
- Champion a safe, positive, and inclusive work environment by promoting health and safety standards, colleague engagement, and accountability.
- Lead change management initiatives and process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness and support business objectives.
- Foster productive union-management relationships, ensuring consistent adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and effective resolution of workplace concerns.
- Ensure high levels of customer service through operational execution, achievement of service-level targets, and on-time deliveries.
- Maintain a visible and accessible leadership presence within the Distribution Centre, proactively addressing operational, staffing, equipment, and workflow challenges.
- Partner with the General Manager in the development, monitoring, and control of the annual operating budget, identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency and overall performance.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience at the Senior Supervisor or Manager level within a distribution centre or warehouse environment
- Exceptional team-building skills with a demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and motivate leaders and operational teams.
- Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Smartsheet, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), SAP, and other related operational systems.
- Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements and/or previous experience working in a unionized environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety, operational excellence, and colleague engagement.
- Ability to provide hands-on leadership, adapt to changing business priorities, and work flexible hours based on operational requirements.
