The Integrated Vehicle Systems organization develops innovative vehicle technologies that enhance safety, quality, performance, and the overall customer experience. Our team works across a global engineering network to design and deliver advanced software and electronic systems that support next-generation vehicle capabilities. We are seeking an Engineer, Automated & Electronics Design who is passionate about solving complex technical challenges and contributing to the future of mobility.
In this role, you will support the development, integration, validation, and launch of embedded software and vehicle system solutions that enable Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), automated driving technologies, connected vehicle features, and other vehicle electronic systems. Reporting to the Manager, Automated & Electronics Design, you will collaborate with global engineering teams, suppliers, and cross functional stakeholders to deliver high quality solutions that support department objectives and Toyota's long term success.
What You'll Be Doing
Success in this role means delivering reliable, high-quality software and system solutions that support innovative vehicle technologies and customer-focused outcomes. You will work with global teams and key stakeholders to turn requirements into vehicle-ready solutions that support next-generation product development.
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and validate embedded software solutions that support vehicle functions, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), automated driving technologies, connected vehicle capabilities, and other automotive electronic systems.
- Develop, decompose, manage, trace, and verify system and software requirements throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure quality, functionality, and customer satisfaction.
- Perform software integration, troubleshooting, debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution activities to improve product performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams, suppliers, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), regional affiliates, validation organizations, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver vehicle software and system solutions.
- Support development activities involving automotive communication networks, vehicle electronic architectures, and electronic control unit integration.
- Execute software verification and validation activities using simulation, bench, and vehicle testing environments while ensuring compliance with established development standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities, engineering reviews, and development best practices that enhance quality, efficiency, and team effectiveness.
- Support vehicle integration, validation, launch, and issue resolution activities, including occasional domestic and international travel and support outside normal business hours when needed.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree that provides a foundation in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of experience developing embedded software, vehicle systems, automotive electronics, or closely related engineering solutions.
- 3+ years of experience developing software or systems for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), automated driving technologies, connected vehicle technologies, vehicle electronics, or related automotive applications.
- Experience developing, testing, and debugging embedded software using programming languages and development environments such as C, C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience developing, managing, decomposing, tracing, and verifying system and software requirements using requirements management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with automotive communication networks and related development, integration, validation, and diagnostic tools such as CAN, CAN FD, Ethernet, CANoe, CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, or equivalent solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Model-Based Development, software integration, debugging, root cause analysis, verification, and validation for embedded vehicle systems.
- Knowledge of automotive software development processes, coding standards, and quality methodologies such as ASPICE, MISRA, ISO 26262, or equivalent industry standards.
- Experience collaborating across global and cross-functional teams, including engineering organizations, validation teams, suppliers, manufacturing teams, and international stakeholders to deliver vehicle software and system solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Advanced degree that deepens your expertise in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience with AUTOSAR Classic Platform, Adaptive AUTOSAR, or related automotive software architecture frameworks. - Experience with Software in the Loop (SIL), Hardware in the Loop (HIL), automated testing frameworks, and test automation environments.
- Experience supporting vehicle level integration, validation, testing, and launch activities within automotive development programs.
- Experience collaborating with Toyota Motor Corporation, regional engineering organizations, suppliers, or other global automotive stakeholders.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environments, automated build systems, cloud connected vehicle services, over the air update technologies, mobility solutions, or automotive cybersecurity development activities.
