Bookkeeper

About the Role

We’re a fast-growing digital marketing agency looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and fluent in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com, with strong skills in Google Sheets or Excel. You’ll play a key role in keeping our finances accurate, timely, and compliant while supporting leadership with clear financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online.
  
  

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable via Bill.com.
  
  

• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards.
  
  

• Prepare and maintain financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets and custom reports for leadership.
  
  

• Track expenses, budgets, and cash flow for multiple clients and internal projects.
  
  

• Utilize Google Sheets or Excel to create and maintain financial trackers, and reconciliations.
  
  

• Assist with payroll processing and contractor payments.
  
  

• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  
  

• Coordinate with external accountants and tax professionals as needed.
  
  

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a marketing agency, or service-based business.
  
  

• Advance proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com.
  
  

• Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and best practices.

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  
  

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  
  

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience working with digital marketing agencies or professional services firms.
  
  

• Familiarity with project-based or retainer-based billing.
  
  

• Experience supporting payroll and contractor invoicing and payments.
  
  

• Basic understanding of financial forecasting or cash flow budgeting.

• Familiarity with agency specific tools (e.g. HubSpot, Asana, Slack).
