Description
- Conducts inspections of municipal capital improvement projects, public infrastructure construction, and/or private development projects.
- Inspects public streets, driveways, utility mains, and/or other infrastructure.
- Performs Certificate of Occupancy (COP), erosion control, and/or other types of inspections.
- Reviews project plans and monitors for contractor compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Prepares and maintains various types of inspection records, reports, and documentation.
- Communicates with developers, contractors, and/or other parties regarding inspection issues and/or other construction matters.
- Responds to inquiries and complaints involving projects and/or inspection activities; assists with complaint investigations as required.
- Participates in reviewing/approving engineering plans and development permits.
- Assists with floodplain management activities as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or required
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent, and two years experience conducting engineering inspections; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Work is performed in a standard office environment and in the field.
- Subject to sitting, standing, walking on uneven terrain, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
- Exposure to variable weather conditions, general construction hazards, heavy equipment, hazardous chemicals, and infectious diseases is involved.
